SANDAKAN: The need for stable wireless internet access on Berhala Island has become increasingly urgent to support the daily lives of island residents, particularly in education, communication and access to essential information.
In view of this, representatives from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) Sandakan paid a courtesy visit to the Sandakan Parliamentary Service Centre here yesterday.
The delegation was received by the Parliamentary Coordinator, Tang Szu Ching, representing Sandakan Member of Parliament, Vivian Wong Shir Yee.
Tang said the visit focused on discussions regarding the application for local wireless network (WiFi) facilities on Berhala Island and on understanding the actual needs of the island community.
