ONCE again Chinese New Year will be descending on us starting February 17, 2026. Pet owners are reminded to keep their pets secure indoors as it breaks our hearts to see notices involving lost pets.
So, please prepare somewhere: the kitchen the bathroom etc for your pet so it will feel safe and most importantly it will not be able to escape. Make sure windows are secure, too!
Can you imagine your pet who lives a secure life and is loved and gets regular food and water lost and out there wandering about not knowing where to hide or get food and water besides having to manage the “strangers” It will come across.
Studies have shown that dogs are particularly sensitive to loud noises like thunder and firecrackers, hence, they tend to “run away” to find a secure or more comfortable space to escape the noise.
Please be kind. Secure your pet before the Chinese New Year starts. Make sure they are secured bn CNY Eve (February 16).
