Businesswoman cleared of outraging police modesty charge

KOTA KINABALU: Nur Jawaheer Ismail, 39, was acquitted of outraging a policeman’s modesty over a viral 2021 roadblock incident in Kepayan after the prosecution failed to prove a prima facie case.

Magistrate Marilyn Kelvin discharged her without calling her defence.

The charge involved alleged insulting remarks directed at Corporal Maslin Samih, which were reportedly heard by others.

Nur Jawaheer was represented by Luke Ressa Balang, Hairul Vyron Othman, and Angela Ubud.
