KOTA KINABALU: Sabah is positioning itself as a serious international business events hub through the BE in Sabah Forum 2026, shifting focus from participation to long-term global partnerships, said SICC CEO Datuk Dr Rosmawati Haji Lasuki.
The two-day forum brings 33 speakers from 18 countries and over 900 delegates, aiming to drive practical collaboration in governance, sustainability, innovation and market access.

Several MOUs were signed with international partners to support knowledge exchange and destination growth, while a planned ship hotel near SICC will expand event capacity.
Rosmawati credited state leadership and industry bodies for strengthening professionalism and talent development, noting that 60 per cent of operational roles are now handled by trained local professionals, reinforcing Sabah’s readiness to operate at international standards.
