He said the scope of the project, approved in 2024 at a cost of RM103.4 million, involved upgrading 7.7 kilometres according to JKR R2 specifications and the construction of a bridge.
According to him, the project’s implementing agency is Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR) Sabah based on a design and build basis.
When completed, Jonathan said, it will benefit four villages, namely Kg Perancangan, Togis, Takutan and Nalumad involving approximately 1,200 residents.
“This project has undergone the Value Management Laboratory (VM) session and will go through a pre-qualification open tender (design and build) in March,” said Jonathan, who was informed about the information on the project in the Dewan Rakyat.
Jonathan had asked the Minister of Rural and Regional Development to state the immediate steps it would take to upgrade the Perancangan-Takutan-Nalumad-Dantayon road.
He said the implementation of the project would bring relief to many villagers.
