Kota Kinabalu: Tomorrow’s (Sunday) Race 4 (Class 2) over 1100 metres sandtrack features an intriguing line-up of nine runners, including the return of Star Empire after a lengthy period of rest and recovery.
All eyes will also be on untested Dimesso who is debuting. His career previously at Selangor Turf Club had not been smooth-sailing because of injuries. Now recovered, Dimesso hopefully can make an instant impact in racing here.

Another newcomer Conflagrance who ran well previous two starts is expected to fight favourite Leggenda for pole position. Sukoli Beauty and Blarney Blink are battle-hardened campaigners to be respected too.
Race 5 (Class 4) over 1100 metres sandtrack is an open affair with several promising types fully capable of podium finish against seasoned gallopers. Early favourite Magic Million is aiming for his fourth consecutive win with a sparkling Ratu First equally capable of clinching top spot.
A confident Seabiscuit with an excellent record of finishing third placing or above in his last five runs, can attack hard. Demoted Beautiful Princess starting at barrier three has to be penciled in.
Sunday also showcases Royal Sabah Turf Club’s (RSTC) Borneo Star continuing his racing “education” at Selangor Turf Club.
Against a quality and matured field with Rhythm of Zen, Fortune Baby, Red Maned and Super Manjung competing for top spot, Borneo Star can use this chance to build confidence.
World’s undisputed superstar sprinter Ka Ying Rising is poised to make history yet again as he attempts to equal the great Silent Witness’ 17th consecutive straight wins in Hong Kong tomorrow.
Unbeaten since February 2024 and facing six formidable rivals in Race 6 (Group 1) over 1200m, Ka Ying Rising will jump from favourable barrier four.
Fast Network has proven to be tough competitor at elite level and is expected to fight for second place against super consistent Helios Express and a rising Raging Blizzard.
Race 8 (Group 1) The Stewards Cup over 1600m will be an epoch-making clash with “living legend” Romantic Warrior against a supremely confident Voyage Bubble.
Romantic Warrior had convincingly claimed two Group victories late last year upon his return from successful overseas forays.
The tenacious Voyage Bubble claimed Group 1 Hong Kong Mile last start though he has yet to beat Romantic Warrior in three previous meetings.
My Wish touted as the next superstar can prove his worth against these two best gallopers.
Red Lion has ability to punish these champions if they are not performing at peak.
