Kota Kinabalu: An Indonesian man was jailed 12 months the Sessions Court, here, for overstaying in the State.
Wahyudi Dicky, 24, pleaded guilty before Judge Hurman Hussain to committing the offence on Jan 6, this year, at 11.55am, near the Sabah West Coast Vegetable and Fruit Growers and Wholesalers Association, Penampang Bypass Road, Penampang.
The court heard that Wahyudi’s Special Pass was valid until Nov 20, 2024, and that he had overstayed in Malaysia for one year, one month and 25 days.
Charged under Section 15(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63, the man was ordered to serve the sentence from the date of arrest.
Wahyudi was also referred to the Immigration Department for further action.
Meanwhile, 11 foreigners were jailed four months each for illegal entry.
The 11 comprised five Filipinos, three Filipinas and three Indonesians, who were charged under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
They were ordered to serve the imprisonment sentence from the date of arrest and ordered to be referred to the Immigration Department for further action after completion of their jail terms.
