TAWAU: The Tawau district still has many potential traders ready to cooperate in enlivening the local market, thereby stimulating the economy while providing consumers with a wider range of choices and convenience.
Chinese New Year Night Market Organising Committee Chairman Liow Chun Jet said this was evident when all 100 stall slots provided by the organisers were fully booked within a very short period.

“The response was extremely positive, with all registration forms taken up on the very first day they were opened to the public,” he said on Monday.
He said the night market is scheduled to be held for three days, from Feb 13 to 15, at the Fuji Park parking area.
“For those who were unsuccessful in securing a slot, we sincerely apologise, as the capacity of the location only allows for the participation of 100 stalls or traders, including the stage area and sales spaces,” he said.
Liow added that traders who have successfully registered will be contacted to attend a ballot session for the allocation of stall locations, scheduled for Jan 31, to ensure the distribution is carried out fairly and transparently.
He also noted that in addition to sales stalls, the organisers will provide a performance stage to enliven the atmosphere, and members of the public are invited to attend and join in the festivities.
The Chinese New Year Night Market programme is organised by the Office of Sri Tanjong ADUN Justin Wong.
