TELUPID: The State Government remains committed to supporting the organisation and celebration of various festivities in the state as a platform to strengthen unity and harmony among its multi-racial and multi-religious communities.
Deputy Chief Minister I and State Works and Utilities Minister Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam said Sabahans are fortunate as every major celebration is observed collectively, regardless of race, religion, or political ideology.
He noted that festivities such as Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Chinese New Year, Deepavali, and Christmas are not merely religious or cultural events, but symbols of unity among the people of Sabah.
“Despite differences in political beliefs, religion, and race, we are still able to sit together and celebrate these festivities as one. This is the strength and uniqueness of Sabah,” he said.
