PENAMPANG: A 59-year-old died of a suspected heart attack while driving, causing his four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle to crash into two parked cars at Taman Suria Apartment, here, on Tuesday morning.
Penampang District Police Chief Supt Sammy Newton said preliminary investigations showed the man lost control of his vehicle after experiencing a medical emergency, resulting in the collision.
“The driver is believed to have suffered a heart attack while driving, causing him to collide with the parked cars,” he said in a statement.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and no one else was injured in the accident.
His death has been classified as a Sudden Death Report (SDR), while the traffic accident is being investigated under Rule 10 of LN 166/59.
Sammy urged motorists to always drive carefully and prioritise road safety, especially those with health conditions.
