Upon receiving information, a police team together with the Forensic Unit from the Sabah Police Contingent Headquarters went to the scene and found both victims in a seated position in the rear passenger section.
Further examination found all vehicle windows were tightly closed and locked, while no loss of valuables was reported.
Initial investigations found that both victims had not been reachable by family members since Friday before the father of one of the victims found the vehicle at the location and discovered both victims inside the car.
“Both bodies had no signs of injury and early police investigations have not found any criminal element or foul play,” he said.
The bodies were handed over to the Forensic Department at Duchess of Kent Hospital Sandakan for post-mortem examination to determine the actual cause of death.
Ramasamy advised the public not to make any speculation that could disrupt the investigation and to give police space to conduct a thorough investigation into the case.
