TAWAU: A 19-year-old woman’s pregnancy led to the arrest of her uncle within 24 hours after a police report exposed an alleged incest rape case here.
District police chief ACP Jasmin Hussin said the case came to light after the suspect’s sister brought her niece for a medical check-up, which confirmed the pregnancy and prompted a report to police.

The suspect, a foreign national in his 40s, was arrested at a rented room in the town centre at about 3.50pm on Saturday.
Police believe the incident occurred at a house in Taman Semarak while the victim was staying at her aunt’s home, where the suspect, who is the complainant’s younger brother, allegedly assaulted her.
The case is being investigated under Section 376(3) of the Penal Code for incest rape and Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63, with police noting the suspect has a prior drug-related criminal record.
