Missing boat crew member found dead off Semporna

SEMPORNA: A 24-year-old man reported missing after a collision involving two boats near the Semporna Tourist Jetty was found dead on Sunday morning.

Maritime Rescue Sub Centre said the body of Rosman Kandau was located at 8.37am off Kampung Terusan Baru, about 3.4 nautical miles southeast of the jetty.

The remains were recovered by a Fire and Rescue Department boat and later handed over to police for further investigation.

Family members were present at the scene and confirmed the identity of the deceased.

Rosman, a crew member, went missing after the boat he was on collided with another vessel on Friday morning, leaving four others, including the skipper, injured and prompting a multi-agency search and rescue operation.
