KOTA KINABALU: Police seized 39.5 kilogrammes of syabu worth an estimated RM1.26 million after raiding a house in Taman Donggongon, Penampang, on Tuesday night, following a public tip-off.
Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun said the 11.30pm raid led to the arrest of two men, aged 28 and 29, from the peninsula, and the discovery of 40 packages hidden inside nearly 200 modified chopping boards.

He said the syndicate employed a first-of-its-kind method by carving compartments into chopping boards, each capable of concealing up to 200 grammes of syabu, a tactic revealed during a press conference at police headquarters in Kepayan.
Investigations found the suspects acted as transporters, tested positive for drugs, had links to Kuala Lumpur, and used courier services to ship the drugs by sea to Sabah for local distribution, potentially supplying up to 160,000 users for a single use.
Both suspects have been remanded until Jan 14 under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries the death penalty upon conviction, as police step up cooperation with Bukit Aman and other agencies and do not rule out further arrests.
