TAWAU: Police arrested a handyman in his 40s for allegedly vandalising his employer’s property over wage dissatisfaction in Kampung Air Batu 4, Jalan Apas, around 5.30pm on Saturday.
Tawau District Police Chief ACP Jasmin Hussin said the suspect is believed to have caused damage to several parts of the employer’s house, including the living room tiles, walls, bathroom door and sink, with losses estimated at RM1,500.
The incident reportedly occurred last December in Kampung Kau Sing, Batu 6, Jalan Apas.
The suspect was apprehended by the District Criminal Investigation Division (BSJD) and is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code and Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
In a separate case, a foreign painter in his 20s was also arrested in Kampung Air Batu 4 to assist in the investigation of an assault involving a sharp weapon and threats at Kampung Hidayat, Batu 4, Jalan Apas, last September.
That investigation falls under Section 324, Section 506 of the Penal Code, and Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act.
