KOTA KINABALU: A diesel spill beneath the Tanjung Aru flyover here prompted a rapid clean-up operation by firefighters on Wednesday morning, shortly after a call was received at 10.23am.

While crews were washing down the affected stretch of road, a motorcycle skidded on the slick surface, leaving its 27-year-old rider with minor injuries.

Firefighters administered initial treatment before transferring the man to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, and the operation was concluded once the area was declared safe at 10.57am.
