RANAU: Christmas Open House has become a bridge among people of different races, religions and political ideologies.
Although Dec 25 marks the celebration of Christmas for Christians, the culture of visiting relatives and grassroots community leaders show no sign of slowing down.
This was seen among the residents here who are having the open house up to Dec 31.
Ranau MP, Datuk Jonathan Yasin, was among the many who continue such tradition.
The atmosphere became livelier with Christmas carols, Karaoke and cultural dances.
Many describe the atmosphere of Christmas as a source of peace between various ethnicities despite different religions and cultures.
The residents hoped such atmosphere could be continued in other celebrations Hari Raya, Kaamatan Festival, Chinese New Year, Deepavali and Gawai Day, among others.
