Kota Kinabalu: A newborn boy was found at the Teluk Likas Public Park Saturday morning, prompting a police investigation.
Kota Kinabalu police chief ACP Kasim Muda said a report was received at 6.30am following a call from a member of the public.

“The baby is believed to have been born a few hours before being found. He was alive, safe and showed no signs of injury,” he said.
An ambulance was called to the scene and the baby was taken to Hospital Likas for further treatment and examination.
Kasim said initial checks found no witnesses and the area was not equipped with CCTV cameras.
“The case is being investigated under Section 317 of the Penal Code and efforts to trace those responsible are ongoing,” he said, adding the matter has been referred to the Social Welfare Department for follow-up action.
