KOTA KINABALU: A series of house break-ins has raised concern among residents in Likas, Kota Kinabalu, after four cases were reported within just three days.
The incidents took place around Taman Yakim Jaya and Taman Maju Kota, with the first case occurring on the night of March 22. It was posted on
Facebook by LDP vice president Sim Fui.
A burglar reportedly broke into a house and ransacked the interior, leaving the home in disarray.
On March 24, three more break-ins were reported in the same area, all happening on the same day and around similar times.
CCTV footage from one of the cases showed a suspect entering a residence under the cover of darkness.
Residents in the affected neighbourhoods are urged to stay alert and take extra precautions, including locking all doors and windows, switching on outdoor lighting at night, and keeping watch for suspicious individuals or vehicles. Installing CCTV cameras has also been recommended to help monitor any unusual activity.
The matter has been raised with authorities, with calls for increased police patrols in the area. Members of the public are advised to report any suspicious activity to the Kota Kinabalu police hotline at 014-309 4800.
