KOTA MARUDU: A road crash involving a Perodua Axia and a Perodua Bezza at Kampung Mangaris 3 here left two people seriously injured on Sunday afternoon.

The Fire and Rescue Department said it received a call at 3.23pm and a team from the Kota Marudu station arrived about 16 minutes later to find two occupants trapped in the Axia with severe injuries.

Firefighters used specialised equipment to extricate a 33-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman, who were handed over to Health Ministry personnel for initial treatment before being taken to Kota Marudu Hospital.

The two occupants of the Bezza, a 36-year-old man and a woman, were unhurt and had exited their vehicle on their own, and the operation was concluded once the area was declared safe.
