TAWAU: The State Youth, Sports and Creative Economy Ministry plans to build a new sports facility costing at least RM15 million in Apas to better serve residents in the area.
Minister Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan (

He said the project’s design blueprint has been completed, but progress now hinges on resolving land-use matters and meeting technical requirements.
Nizam added that implementation will depend on state funding approval, describing the project as a personal priority aimed at nurturing youth talent and easing reliance on the Tawau Sports Complex located some distance away.
He said the facility is expected to encourage healthier lifestyles and community engagement, with benefits extending beyond Apas to nearby areas such as Balung and Sri Tanjong.
