KOTA KINABALU: A newborn baby boy was found abandoned at Likas Bay Public Park on Saturday morning, prompting a police investigation.
City police chief ACP Kasim Muda said a report was received at about 6.30am after a member of the public alerted authorities.

He said the baby was believed to have been born only a few hours earlier and was found alive, safe and without visible injuries.
An ambulance was dispatched to the scene and the infant was taken to Likas Hospital for medical examination and care.
Kasim said there were no eyewitnesses and no CCTV coverage in the area, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 317 of the Penal Code with the Social Welfare Department involved, and anyone with information may contact the nearest police station or investigating officer SM Rosmah Pg Hasim at 011-31677612.
