KOTA KINABALU: Sabah has allocated RM118.42 million under the 2026 State Budget to strengthen women’s empowerment, youth development and sports.
State Finance Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said RM8.24 million goes to Jhewa for programmes such as BizBloom, women’s entrepreneurship training and family development initiatives. Under 13MP, Jhewa also received a RM1.8 million ceiling for Phase 2 of the Women’s Hostel project.
Yayasan Usaha Maju will receive RM12.12 million to sustain credit schemes for low-income women in small businesses.
A total of RM98.06 million is channelled to the Youth, Sports Development and Creative Economy Ministry, including RM16.75 million for youth development and grants.
Sports development receives RM27.21 million to improve facilities, training and competition support.
The Sabah Sports Council gets RM20 million for talent identification, high-performance training and Paralympic preparations ahead of Sukma 2026.
Another RM5.05 million is allocated to 54 state sports associations, and RM800,000 for community sports programmes.
Sabah Sports Board will receive RM25 million for facility management, while 13MP sports projects carry a ceiling of RM445.63 million, including RM10.05 million for upgrading sports facilities and a 2026 feasibility study on the proposed Kota Kinabalu Main Stadium.
Masidi said the allocations aim to empower women, nurture youth leadership and expand sporting excellence to build a more inclusive and skilled Sabah.
