TAWAU: The suspicious actions of a foreign man who trespassed into a woman’s home at a plantation workers’ housing area in Balung on Monday ended with his arrest, thanks to a vigilant security guard.
Acting Tawau District Police Chief DSP Champin Piuh said the 25-year-old suspect’s behaviour at the 44-year-old woman’s residence was noticed by the plantation’s security personnel.
“We received an initial report about the suspect’s detention at around 10am and dispatched a police team from the District Criminal Investigation Division (BSJD) to the location,” he said on Tuesday.
Champin added that the security guard on duty initially apprehended the suspect after spotting him entering the back of the house. Preliminary investigations by BSJD found that none of the woman’s personal belongings were missing.
The suspect was later handed over to the police for further action and investigation.
The case is being investigated under Section 448 of the Penal Code for trespassing and Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 for not possessing valid identification documents.
