KOTA KINABALU: Sabah DAP has acknowledged that the outcome of the 17th Sabah State Election reflects a significant loss of confidence in the party and Pakatan Harapan, calling for an urgent effort to rebuild public trust, said its chairman Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe on Monday.
Phoong said the party respects the decision of voters statewide and will use the result as a basis to reassess its direction following a committee meeting held on 7 December.

He said Sabah DAP fully supports his decision not to take up any position in the new state administration, adding that the party had never submitted any letter to the Chief Minister regarding participation in the government.
Phoong also welcomed the Federal Government’s move to raise the e-invoice threshold to RM1 million and begin the process of returning Sabah’s 40 per cent revenue entitlement, while urging for faster institutional reforms and a stronger push to ease the economic burden on the people.
He expressed condolences to the family of the late Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin and thanked party members, volunteers and supporters for their dedication throughout the election campaign.
