KOTA KINABALU: Sabahans have been urged to look past the noise surrounding the early-morning swearing-in of GRS Chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor as Chief Minister, with Moyog Gagasan Rakyat deputy chief Datuk Aminah Ambrose (

She said the rapid formation of the new coalition government was a practical response to avoid a governance vacuum after Sunday’s state election and to ensure continuity in running the state.

Aminah said Hajiji’s position was strengthened by GRS securing 29 seats, giving him the clearest mandate to lead as parties and independents moved to align with the coalition to achieve the simple majority of 37 seats.
She said their willingness to cooperate showed political maturity and a shared commitment to stability, which she described as essential for timely decisions, uninterrupted services and policies that benefit the people.
Aminah also commended Hajiji’s inclusive leadership following support from BN and Star, saying Sabah’s progress depends on unity and the belief that “we are all Sabahans after all.”
