No major Cabinet reshuffle, just vacancies to be filled: PM
KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (pic) said today that he will focus on filling several vacancies in the Cabinet rather than carrying out a major reshuffle.

Amid calls and speculation over a possible reshuffle, Anwar said current considerations indicate there is no need for sweeping changes, given that the Madani Government now has only about a year and a half left in its term.

“We need to fill a few vacancies, but a major reshuffle normally requires a longer time (remaining in the term), while this Cabinet will only function for a little over a year, a year and a half.

“So I do not think a major reshuffle should be done. However, I am contemplating what steps should be taken. But filling the vacancies is necessary,” he told reporters after launching Perodua’s first electric vehicle here today.
