Cabinet reshuffle talk lightened by PM’s humour
PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (pic) on Friday turned a question about a possible Cabinet reshuffle into a light-hearted moment when he invited reporters to propose names for the new line-up.

Responding with humour, Anwar said the media could submit their suggestions to him directly.

“Give me your suggestions if you have any...just pass it to me,” he said cheekily when asked after officiating the closing ceremony of the Putrajaya Festival of Ideas (FOI) 2025 here.

Speculation over a Cabinet reshuffle has resurfaced amid reports that several ministers and deputy ministers would have to step down as their senatorships are set to expire early next month.

Kota Kinabalu: KOTA KINABALU: Fiesta Mega Raya (FMR) 2026 is set to be the largest and most prestigious Hari Raya celebration in Sabah, taking place from March 7 to 18, at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), here.
Among them are Minister of Higher Education Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir, Minister of Home Affairs Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz, and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar.

Earlier, Zambry also drew attention during the same event when he hinted at uncertainty about his position.

“Whether I remain a Cabinet minister or not, that’s secondary, but this (FOI) is a national agenda. My term will be up soon, maybe just two or three weeks left,” he said.

Zambry was among four senators appointed to the Cabinet on Dec 3, 2022, and whose terms will expire on Dec 2 this year.

Asked about a possible extension of his term, he said he was not aware of any decision, adding that he would continue to perform his duties as minister “for as long as required.”

The event was also attended by Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa, and Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar.
