KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim unveiled new appointments and portfolio changes in the Madani government today, aimed at boosting economic growth and addressing public concerns.
Sungai Petani MP Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari was named Youth and Sports Minister, replacing Hannah Yeoh, now Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories).

Six deputy ministers were promoted, including Datuk Mustapha Sakmud, elevated from Deputy Minister of Higher Education to Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department overseeing Sabah and Sarawak Affairs.
Other notable promotions included Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir (Minister of Economy) and Datuk Seri Arthur Joseph Kurup (Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability).
The reshuffle fills vacancies left by Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli and Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, who resigned after losing their PKR party posts in May.
Anwar stressed that the Cabinet adjustments ensure teamwork and a focused approach to economic recovery, noting only ministers with new or changed portfolios were announced.
