KOTA KINABALU: Veteran politician Abd Aziz Taip has resigned from all posts in Parti Warisan, including its Supreme Council and the Sipitang division, citing concerns over the party’s direction under Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal.
He said the decision followed long reflection on Sabah’s political landscape and his belief that Warisan’s leadership no longer aligned with the state’s long-term needs.

Abd Aziz confirmed he is joining Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) under Pakatan Harapan (PH), saying he trusted Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s commitment to Sabah’s 40 per cent revenue entitlement.
He added that the “Save Sabah” narrative had failed to materialise into concrete action during Shafie’s tenure and said decisions were too often driven by political motives.
Abd Aziz said he would reveal further details on his supporters and future role in PH soon, adding that his focus remains on stability, progress and opportunities for Sabah’s youth.
