KOTA KINABALU: Former Senator Datuk John Ambrose (

He said the pledge could ease the burden on young Sabahans, especially newly married couples who often struggle to save the 10 per cent down payment due to rising property prices and stagnant wages.

John said many young workers in urban areas like Kota Kinabalu, Penampang, Likas and Tuaran are increasingly priced out of the housing market, with rental costs rising faster than incomes.
He said the proposal would remove the biggest financial hurdle for first-time buyers and offer young families a tangible path to homeownership if GRS wins the 29 November state election.
John urged Sabahans to give GRS the mandate to implement the policy, adding that the coalition also plans to allocate 50 SMJ homes in each constituency, including 10 units reserved for young B40 and e-Kasih households.
