SANDAKAN: A newly acquired US Coast Guard cutter from the United States, which arrived in Port Klang in September, will be deployed to Sabah waters once its renovation and maintenance works are completed.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail (

He said the cutter will strengthen maritime security in Sabah, especially as it joins existing Coast Guard assets following the recent deployment of KM Fatimah to Sarawak.
Saifuddin shared the update during a community programme in Karamunting, where he also expressed confidence in incumbent assemblyman George Hiew Vun Zin’s candidacy for the state polls.
George said voters he met during the campaign have responded positively, adding that he aims to develop Kampung Pukat as a seafood export hub while addressing local water issues if given another term.
