KOTA KINABALU: Independent Karanaan candidate Naomi Francis has filed for a judicial review at the High Court here to challenge the Attorney-General’s move to appeal Sabah’s constitutional revenue ruling.
Naomi, a small trader and grassroots activist in Ranau, said she was defending the earlier High Court decision that recognised Sabah’s rights under Article 112C and the Tenth Schedule.
She previously won cases involving vaccine-related discrimination and the rights of local bumiputera traders, which she said shaped her resolve to pursue the matter on behalf of ordinary Sabahans.
Naomi said she was taking this step as a small-business owner without political backing, framing the action as an effort to protect the dignity and rights of the state.
She called on the public to support the legal challenge, which is being funded entirely through community donations and volunteer efforts.
