KOTA KINABALU: The Election Commission (EC) has reminded prospective candidates to complete their forms and verify the documents early ahead of Nomination Day for the 17th Sabah Legislative Assembly General Election.

EC secretary Datuk Khairul Shahril Idrus said on Thursday that nomination papers must be submitted between 9am and 10am on Nov 15 at any of the 25 designated centres by the candidate, proposer and seconder, or any one or two of them.

The EC encouraged intending candidates to check their documents with returning officers or the Sabah state election office before Nomination Day and to settle their deposits early, bringing the receipt as proof.

Candidates representing political parties must also present a letter authorising the use of the party symbol when submitting their nomination papers.
