KOTA KINABALU: Sabah DAP will contest eight seats in the 17th State Election under the Pakatan Harapan banner.
The party will defend six constituencies — Likas, Luyang, Kapayan, Elopura, Tanjong Papat and Sri Tanjong — while expanding into Tanjung Aru and an interior seat still under negotiation with GRS and BN partners.
At the Magellan Sutera Harbour on Saturday, DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke introduced three new faces — Tang Szu Ching, 29, for Tanjong Papat; Chan Loong Wei, 25, for Luyang; and Philip Yap, 40, for Sri Tanjong.
Kota Kinabalu MP Datuk Chan Foong Hin will move to Tanjung Aru, joined by incumbents Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe in Likas, Datuk Jannie Lasimbang in Kapayan, and Sandakan MP Vivian Wong in Elopura.
Anthony said the final candidate, a woman representing the interior seat, will be announced once discussions conclude, adding that the party’s lineup reflects gender balance and youth representation.
