Kota Kinabalu: Sabah China Chamber of Commerce (SCCC) president Datuk Frankie Liew signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Yunfu Municipal Bureau of Commerce to strengthen cooperation.
Frankie emphasized that Sabah is currently actively promoting investment and business opportunities and urged more Chinese enterprises to invest in Sabah, to foster shared regional prosperity.
The MOU signed in Yunfu City, Guangdong, covers cooperation in several key sectors, including modern agriculture, intelligent metal manufacturing, green building materials, high-tech industries, cultural tourism, and green food production.
The MOU marks a new phase of economic partnership between Sabah and Yunfu, injecting new momentum into regional industrial cooperation under the RCEP framework.
Frankie said the conference carried great significance for Sabah and the SCCC.
“The organizers placed particular emphasis on agricultural cooperation, which aligns perfectly with the Sabah State Government’s development priorities,” he said.
He said Sabah’s agricultural products such as Musang King durians, pineapples, and coconuts have vast potential in the Chinese market. In the future, both sides could strengthen cooperation in agricultural cultivation, processing, and export.
Yunfu’s agricultural products are equally suitable for introduction into the Sabah market, creating strong prospects for mutual complementarity and exchange in the agricultural field.
