Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) Chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor urged the GRS machinery to double their efforts by going door to door to meet and engage with the people at all levels ahead of the 17th Sabah State Election next month.
He stressed that victory would not come without hard work, determination and strong teamwork across all party levels, from the state leadership down to the grassroots.
“Do not be complacent or satisfied with what we have achieved so far. Each one of us is the frontline of this struggle,” he said when launching the GRS Election Machinery at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), Sunday.
He said every area, village and neighbourhood must become a battleground to ensure GRS’ message and aspirations reach every voter.
“Every home must be visited, every voter identified and engaged and every heart must be touched,” he emphasised. Hajiji reminded party members never to give up or surrender easily but to keep fighting with unwavering spirit and determination.
“If the pole breaks, we walk on foot; if the foot breaks, we lean on the knee; if the knee breaks, we lean on the elbow; if the elbow breaks, we lean on the nails, but surrender, never!” he declared to applause.
He said GRS’s struggle must continue with strong commitment and discipline to ensure Sabah remains governed by a stable and capable government.
“Victory and success will not fall into our laps. They can only be achieved through hard work, sincerity, and teamwork,” he said.
Hajiji added that GRS’s strength lies not only in its policies and achievements but also in the spirit, loyalty, and resilience of its supporters throughout the state.
“No mountain is too high for us to climb, no sea too deep for us to cross. In GRS, there is no such thing as giving up or bowing in defeat,” he affirmed.
He said this election is not merely about seeking a new mandate but about defending Sabah’s future and continuing its progress under GRS leadership.
“The time has come for us to enter this battle with burning spirit and unshakable confidence, to fight for the people and the future of our beloved state,” Hajiji said.
