Tuaran: Women play an important role not just in campaign work on the ground, but also in bringing the government’s plans and goals to the people across Sabah, said Sabah Gagasan Rakyat Wanita Chief Datuk Redonah Bahanda.
“Women are the backbone of the party’s strength. We are not just supporting from behind, but we stand shoulder to shoulder in the fight to ensure Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor continues as leader.
“He (Hajiji) has proven he can bring political stability, economic progress and better lives for Sabah’s people,” Redonah said at a briefing for the wanita election machinery for Sulaman.
The event, recently held at the Dewan Utama Bangunan Kebudayaan Rumpun Bajau Sama in Kampung Lok Batik, here, brought together wanita volunteers from all seven polling districts in Sulaman.
Redonah said all 74 Gagasan Rakyat Wanita Divisions had pledged full support for Hajiji to remain as Chief Minister after the coming state election.
“We are united under the same cause to make sure Hajiji continues to lead Sabah. We want this continuity for stability, progress and a better future for our people,” she said.
She said every team member must be fully prepared with a strong grassroots structure so campaign work can be carried out in an organised, focused and strategic manner.
“Our wanita campaign work must be focused and convincing so we can reach every voter with a clear message. This is the time to prove that Wanita Gagasan can be at the frontlines of victory,” she said.
Redonah said the Sulaman seat is the political heartland of Hajiji’s leadership and winning there would show strong public support for him. Sulaman is not just any constituency, it is a symbol of Gagasan Rakyat Sabah and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah’s (GRS) strength. Successfully defending Sulaman will send a message that people still trust Hajiji to continue driving progress and prosperity in Sabah,” she said.
She called on all wanita volunteers to strengthen unity and continue meeting people on the ground with GRS’ message of stability and wellbeing.
“Wanita Gagasan is the fortress of the party’s spirit and strength. From Sulaman, we will create a wave of victory across all of Sabah,” she said.
