KOTA KINABALU: Expedition Mt Kinabalu returns for its 13th year on Aug 12, continuing a journey that began with one woman’s dream and now champions a global cause, to raise awareness and support for boys living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
Organised by California-based charity Coalition Duchenne, the climb will begin with a flag-off ceremony by Sabah’s Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister, Datuk Christina Liew, at Shangri-La’s Tanjung Aru Resort and Spa.
Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a rare but devastating condition that affects one in 3,500 boys globally. There is no known cure.
Over the years, Coalition Duchenne has donated RM40,000 to the Sabah Women and Children’s Hospital via the Sabah Paediatric Association to help support Duchenne care.
