Adapt to Malaysian Family spirit, Mindef staff told

Kota Kinabalu: Ministry of Defence (Mindef) personnel need to adapt to the Keluarga Malaysia (Malaysian Family) spirit in giving their best service to the people.

Mindef Secretary-General Datuk Seri Muez Abd Aziz said with continued efforts, the image and performance of the Ministry would be at its peak.

“By doing so, the image and performance of the Ministry would be at its peak in line with Mindef’s slogan, which is Pertahanan Negara Tanggungjawab Bersama” (The Nation’s Defence is the Shared Responsibility of All.”

The three characteristics of the Keluarga Malaysia concept are inclusivity, common ground and contentment.

Muez said Mindef personnel should not be complacent after achieving a certain level but instead should continue to seek improvement with a view to meet the aspirations of the people and the nation.

“Public expectation on the civil service increases by the day and as such, Mindef personnel should be alert at all times and try their best to meet the expectations of the people,” he said.

He urged each and every Mindef personnel to have positive values so as to inspire others in discharging their duties.

He was speaking at the presentation of Excellent Service Awards (APC) 2021 and “Pekerti Terbilang 2022” awards at the Mindef Sabah branch, here.

At the event, 51 Mindef staff received the APC which consists of a certificate and RM1,000 each. Seven retirees received the certificate and RM400 each and the Pekerti Terbilang medal.

Also present were Sabah Mindef Director Samasuddin Lawe; Mindef Treasury Division Secretary Datuk Muhamad Zamani Mohd Ali and Commander of the Joint Services 2 Tawau, Brig-Gen Abdul Karim Ahmad.
