Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM) recorded 99.8 per cent loan repayment rate from its participants between January and May this year.
Sabah AIM Director Jahinin Siman said the encouraging rate proved the commitment of the participants known as ‘Sahabat Usahawan AIM’ in repaying loans on time.

He said it is also a clear indication that AIM had played a good role in line with its objectives which is to empower the socio-economy of women in the country.
“Ever since I took over Sabah AIM in March last year, I have implemented strategic measures to address the various problems involving the body’s operations which are now more stable,” he said after attending a funeral arrangement course organised by Meruntum AIM Centre.
Jahinin said the financing of Sabah AIM loans for 2021 had also increased drastically to RM170 million compared to only RM124.3 million the previous year, which was an increase of RM45.4 million.
He said that this year, AIM is targeting a financing of RM250 million, including a higher loan collection rate and that he is confident that it can be achieved because until May this year, financing has reached RM120 million.
“The remaining RM130 million can be accomplished by end of this year based on strategic planning that is mobilised via various economic development project initiatives,” he said.
