Estate worker hacked to death in Beluran

BELURAN: A Filipino plantation worker was hacked to death at Ladang Sabang Maju, Sugut, here, on Wednesday.

Beluran Police Chief Supt Kasim Muda said the incident occurred around midnight in front of the workers’ quarters.

He said the suspect, also a Filipino, hacked the victim’s neck with a machete because he was allegedly jealous of the victim for having an affair with his former wife.

“The suspect, who is a colleague of the victim, is believed to have escaped on a motorcycle,” Supt Kasim said, adding that police are tracking down the suspect.
