SANDAKAN: The Human Resources Ministry (Kesuma), the Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp) and MyKasih have extended assistance to 355 heads of households (KIR) affected by the fire at Kampung Bahagia.
The aid was distributed in the form of RM300 vouchers and RM500 credited into the MyKasih application to help ease the financial burden of the fire victims following the incident on April 19.

Deputy Human Resources Minister Datuk Khairul Firdaus Akhbar Khan said various parties had stepped forward to assist the residents since the fire occurred.
He said the contributions came not only from the government but also from Government-Linked Companies (GLCs), non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and individuals.
According to him, the continued support reflected strong concern and solidarity towards the affected families in Kampung Bahagia.
Khairul said the initiative was intended to help victims rebuild their lives after losing their homes in the blaze.
He also welcomed the state government’s efforts to relocate the fire victims to a new settlement area.
He said each housing lot would be provided with around 4,000 square feet of land, along with support to enable affected families to rebuild their homes.
Also present were HRD Corp Chief Human Resources Officer Parrish Ersalle, Executive Director of Financial Management (Upstream Sector) representing Dialog Group Berhad, Peter Majid, Representative of MyKasih Foundation General Manager Puvanesh Rao A/L Ratna, Assistant Director of the Sandakan Welfare Department, Ansharey Matarsad, and Kampung Bahagia village head Sharif Hasim Titing.
