Examine Sabah’s history via proper lens: Pairin
Pairin said Britain bore ultimate responsibility for the situation and must be held to account for ensuring the commitments it oversaw were fulfilled.
PAIRIN said Sabah’s struggle for its rights, if resolved, would not only benefit the State but strengthen patriotism and national unity across the country.

He called on all present to examine what had truly happened in Sabah’s history through the lens of truth, sincerity, common sense, logic and international law, including the international treaties and agreements that governed the terms of Malaysia’s formation and to assess it all with honesty.

He said Britain bore ultimate responsibility for the situation and must be held to account for ensuring the commitments it oversaw were fulfilled.

“The British Government should take big responsibility to improve the situation so that all agreements that have been agreed upon can be implemented and enforced by the British themselves.

“We need specific performance from the British Government because they left us in the lurch. They let go of us as their colony but sent us to the peninsula to become a colony there,” he said.

On that note, he called on the young generation and all those aware of Sabah’s situation to carry forward the struggle Fuad had begun, protecting and defending the State until its rights were fully resolved.

“Let us all agree on one approach. We continue the struggle of the late Tun Fuad to protect and defend our state of Sabah,” he said.
