Kota Kinabalu: Two houses were destroyed and another damaged after a fire broke out at Kampung Bantayan, Inanam, here, Tuesday afternoon.

According to Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson, a team of 14 personnel from Lintas Fire Station and seven from Penampang, led by Officer Selvister Yamud, rushed to the scene after receiving a distressed call at 3.27pm.

He said the first team arrived at 3.44pm as the scene was located 7km from the station in which operation was carried out immediately.

Two houses were destroyed while another sustained 10per cent damages, despite efforts to save all structures, he added.
