Kota Kinabalu: Unity and harmony will continue to be the foundation of Sabah’s development, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

He said the State Government remained committed to supporting programmes that bring together people from diverse backgrounds and strengthen community ties.
“We also uphold the aspirations of Malaysia Madani — which emphasises well-being, compassion, mutual respect and sustainability in national development — as the basis for strong unity and shared prosperity,” he said.
Speaking at the National Unity Week celebration at the Likas Sports Complex grounds here on Saturday, Hajiji said Sabah’s selection as host was a recognition of the State’s long-standing culture of harmony and togetherness.
He said genuine unity required continuous commitment, sincerity, mutual respect and socio-economic justice to ensure every region felt valued and developed fairly.
Hajiji urged Sabahans to continue preserving harmony, appreciating ethnic and religious diversity and strengthening the spirit of goodwill as part of the State’s identity.
