Kota Kinabalu: While history remembers him as a statesman, journalist and founding leader, Fauziah Stephens said the late Tun Fuad Stephens’ greatest legacy lay in his values of humility, compassion and service to others.
“He worked towards the formation of Malaysia and many agree that Malaysia would not have been formed with Sabah in it without him,” she said at the “Tun Fuad Stephens Legacy” organised by the National Archives, Monday.
Sharing a personal glimpse into his life in “My Father: Huguan Siou” she said these values guided him as Sabah’s first appointed Chief Minister, a key figure in the formation of Malaysia and one of the State’s most influential journalists.
She said she was adopted by the Stephens family, following a visit by Stephens to her village in Kudat while campaigning.
