KENINGAU: Concern for the people’s welfare remains a priority as Bingkor Assemblyman Dato’ Sr Mohd Ishak Ayub contributed a wheelchair to a 96-year-old resident of Kampung Toboh Laut here.
The donation was handed over by Mukim Developer Gerald Abel, representing Mohd Ishak, during a brief visit to the home of recipient Salie @ Catherine binti Ladom to assist her daily mobility, especially for hospital follow-up treatment.
Chairman of the Kg Toboh Laut Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK), Nuil Gilong, said the family was grateful for the assistance, which is greatly needed given the recipient’s current health condition.
According to him, the wheelchair not only improves mobility but also eases the burden of the family caring for the elderly woman daily.
“With this wheelchair, the recipient’s movement, especially when attending appointments and hospital treatment, has become easier. We really appreciate the concern of the YB who always cares for the needy in this area,” he said.
He also thanked staff from the Bingkor People’s Representative Office for facilitating the delivery of the donation to the recipient.
For the village community, the assistance is seen as a meaningful gesture that brings relief and reassurance to families caring for elderly members in need.
As age advances and physical strength declines, such support is seen as a reminder that grassroots communities are not forgotten.
