KUNAK: Assistant Youth, Sports Development and Creative Economy Minister Dato Sri Anil Sandhu donated 18 cattle for the qurban (sacrifice) ritual here in conjunction with the Aidil Adha celebrations.
Among this year’s recipients were several secondary schools in the district, each receiving three cattle. A cattle each were also distributed to the Kunak District Police Headquarters, the District Office and UPPM Unit, the Kunak District Council, and the Public Works Department.
The remaining cattle were allocated to villages across eight polling district centre areas, including mosques within the affected kampung zones.
“We will continue to strive to contribute more in the future so that more members of the community, particularly Muslims and surrounding communities, can benefit from the qurban ibadah carried out each year,” said the Kunak Assemblyman.
“May all these contributions help strengthen the bonds among us and bring comfort to those in need during the celebration,” he added.
Anil also noted that several plantation companies and palm oil mills operating in the area had similarly contributed cattle to communities in specific locations, further enriching the spirit of qurban observance across the district.
