BEAUFORT: Four local men were arrested in connection with alleged drug abuse activities in three separate incidents here on Sunday.
District Police Chief Supt Champin Piuh said on Monday the first case involved a 47-year-old suspect who was detained during a raid at a house in Kg Melampai.
He said the second arrest involved a 43-year-old man who was detained by the roadside in Menumbok.
In the third case, police arrested two men during a raid at a house in Kg Menunggang, Kuala Penyu, over suspected involvement in drug abuse activities.
Champin said urine tests on all suspects returned positive for drug substances.
He said the suspects are being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
He said police would continue to intensify efforts to combat drug abuse to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the community, he added.
